Budget “leaks” are mostly small recurring spends, forgotten subscriptions, and impulse buys. One focus per day; about 30–40 minutes daily to gather data.

Day 1. Pull statements and receipts

Gather the last month in one place (app, sheet, PDF). Do not over-analyze yet, just collect.

    Day 2. Subscriptions and autopay

List everything that charges automatically: streaming, cloud, gym, donations, mobile add-ons. Flag anything unused for 2+ months, candidates to cancel.

Day 3. Groceries and “coffee on the go”

One week of tracking every small purchase without changing habits yet. Often 15–20% slips into snacks and takeaway unconsciously.

    Day 4. Transport and rides

Compare a month: transit, fuel, parking, ride-hail. Any trips you can batch or replace?

    Day 5. Online impulse

24-hour cart delays; turn off one-tap checkout where safe. Check refunds for the quarter, sometimes a sign of unnecessary buys.

    Day 6. “Gray” spending

Gifts, minor repairs, pharmacy, pets, hobbies, categories without a hard cap. Give each a ceiling for next month.

Day 7. Summary and one rule

Name your top three leaks. Pick one rule for the next month (e.g. a ride-hail cap or one cancelled subscription). Park the rest for later.
